History
Wyoming was plotted in 1836 by General Samuel Thomas, who named the city after the “Valley of Wyoming” in Pennsylvania where he lived until he was 19 years old. In 1898, Wyoming was incorporated as a city under the general laws of the State of Illinois and the city was divided into three wards.
